Because I keep my iPhone in a pouch with a pen, card holder, and writing pad, I needed a tripod that would hold it for use without removing it from the pouch. If you look closely, both the tripod and the pouch have snaps which let me mount the entire pouch on the tripod and it has a small shutter release remote.
